★ ‘The Artist in His Studio’ by Whistler

'The Artist in His Studio' by James McNeill Whistler

★ Just stumbled across this gorgeous painting by James McNeill Whistler, dating from 1865/66 and entitled ‘The Artist in His Studio’ (that’s right, it’s a self portrait and the guy on the right is Whistler himself!). Aside from how wonderfully impressionistic this painting is, I absolutely love the limited colour palette. Peach, taupe and ivory is such a beautifully soft, elegant and feminine colour combination that I’m surprised it isn’t more popular.

Much love!
