★ ‘Mad Men’ Series 7: Part 2 Air Date Announced!

Mad Men

★ Although I’m really excited to see the last few episodes of Mad Men, I’m also really sad that they’ll be ‘the last few episodes’, and all the finality that entails. I’ve enjoyed watching this show immensely over the years, and despite originally being slightly annoyed that they chose to split this last season into two halves (thereby dragging it out over an entire year), as Willy Wonka notably said, “The suspense is terrible, I hope it’ll last”. All the anticipation, all the speculation over what will happen, will be gone. And there’ll be no more Mad Men to look forward to.

Airing on 5th April, this Part 2 season premiere is sure to attract a lot of comment, particularly given where Part 1 left off… If you haven’t seen it yet, don’t worry, I won’t spoil it for you – all I will say is, wow. There have been a huge number of theories as to how the whole thing will end, and the show’s creator, Matt Weiner, is noted for his ability to surprise (I did just say “Wow” about where things left off), so any one of them could prove right.

I have my own little theory, and in the interests of preventing any kind of spoilers (for people who have never seen the show and don’t know anything about it), I’ve put it between some brackets – just highlight between them with your cursor, and you’ll be able to read it. Or not, if you don’t want to know!

[I think that if Don doesn’t end up taking a swan dive off the top of a building, like in the credits, that the final words spoken in the show will be “Hi, I’m Dick Whitman”.] It’s probably wild speculation and way off the mark, but only a few shorts months, and we’ll see…

Much love,
